Work With Us

Tir Natur exists for nature recovery through rewilding in Wales.

Our work centres on Cwm Doethïe in the Elenydd (Cambrian Mountains) where we are creating Wales’s largest rewilding project. A place where natural processes can recover, wildlife can return, and people can reconnect with the landscape.

This is long-term work. It brings together ecology, community, storytelling and practical land stewardship. If you care deeply about nature recovery and want to contribute to something ambitious and hopeful, for Wales and for future generations, we’d love to hear from you.

Working With Tir Natur

Tir Natur was founded on the belief that nature recovery in Wales must work with people, culture and communities. â€‹Our approach to rewilding is rooted in the landscapes of Wales and aims to support both ecological recovery and rural livelihoods. We are a small, collaborative team working on a long-term vision for nature in Wales.

Community & Volunteers Officer

Interviews to be held:

Stage 1:  w/c 6 April (online via MS teams)

Stage 2:  w/c 13th April (in-person at Tir Natur’s site near Tregaron)

Representing Tir Natur locally, this role will play a pivotal part in ensuring we are accessible and engaging.  Building relationships with local community members, community-of-interest members and volunteers across Tir Natur, the Community and Volunteers Officer will be responsible for gathering feedback and ideas from all parties to further develop and deepen our community.

At Tir Natur we are committed to our wide community and all communication is delivered in line with our Welsh language policy.  Oral and written Welsh language skills are essential for this role, and the role holder will need to understand the context of rewilding in Wales.  They will lead a programme of events and activities and will work with an inclusive, accessible approach, aiming to widen our reach as far as possible.

Reporting to the Community Lead and working with the Rewilding Manager, it will be important to ensure that community engagement and volunteer activity align with rewilding priorities on the land. Day‑to‑day responsibilities are centred on communications, outreach and community development.

To apply please send your CV to team@tirnatur.cymru with an email detailing why you are suited for the role.

Tir Natur is committed to transparency and equal opportunities throughout the recruitment process. We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture and to ensuring that our team - including staff, volunteers and supporters - is diverse and representative of wider society.  We particularly encourage applications from people from groups which are currently underrepresented in the environmental sector, notably those from ethnic minority backgrounds, those with disabilities and people from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

This project is funded by the Nature Networks Programme. It is being delivered by the Heritage Fund, on behalf of the Welsh Government.
