What’s the latest with securing full ownership of Cwm Doethïe?

Recap on our journey so far

We needed to raise £2.2 million to secure full ownership of our rewilding site at Cwm Doethïe.

Thanks to our community of supporters, and with the help of a low-interest philanthropic bridging loan, we were able to officially purchase the site in December 2025.

We announced this news in February 2026, following introductions with our neighbours.

This was a huge milestone. It meant the opportunity to protect Cwm Doethïe wasn't lost, and we could begin restoring nature straight away. Since then, we've introduced grazing animals, undertaken baseline ecological surveys, and started building relationships with local people, while continuing the vital work of raising the funds needed to secure this special place for the long term.

Funds raised to date

We're incredibly grateful to have raised 75% of the cost of the land (£1.635 million).

That leaves 25% (£565,000) still to raise by December 2028.

Without fully securing the land, we cannot deliver the long-term rewilding efforts that Cwm Doethïe deserves, including further peatland restoration and species reintroductions. We need to ensure this landscape is protected for wild nature, cared for in perpetuity, and safeguarded for future generations.

Looking ahead

Thanks to the incredible support we've received so far, we're starting to close in on securing Cwm Doethïe for nature, people and future generations. But there's still £565,000 left to raise before the land is fully secured. We still need your help, and every donation counts.

This autumn, we'll be launching a special fundraising campaign that will give supporters the chance to make an even bigger impact. From 16-30 November, donations will be matched pound for pound, up to a total of £20,000, helping every gift go twice as far towards securing Cwm Doethïe for the long term.

We'll be sharing more details soon, so stay tuned. With nature's recovery already beginning on the ground and support for our vision continuing to grow, this is a powerful opportunity to help shape the future of this extraordinary landscape.

Together, we can ensure Cwm Doethïe is a place where nature and people can really thrive.
